Comedian/Philosopher Brian T Shirley has been in the Business for nearly 20 years. His act is derived from growing up poor, coming from a broken home, his military experience, partying, women, pets, infommercials, sports, and much,much, more. He started doing stand-up at The Comedy Zone in Charleston,S.C. at a comedy workshop where he learned the art of performing and writing comedy. He also learned that a successful comedian must also be professional offsatge in dealing with club owners, managers, and booking agents. He has performed all over the U.S., Canada and The Bahamas. Brian can format his show to be G,PG or R rated, depending on the audience and the needs of the clubowner/booker. He has performed in some of the Top Comedy Clubs in the country, including Goodnight's in Raligh, N.C., The Stardome in Birmingham, Al, various Comedy Zones, The Funny Bone in St. Loius and The Comedy Cabana in Myrtle Bch, S.C. He also works Country Clubs all over the U.S. with a select group of Comedians, has done special events such as opening for Huey Lewis and The News,the Laughter for Love benefit for Va. Tech, The Second Annual Charleston Comedy festival, and a Country music festival for Dodge trucks to name a few. Brian has also done The Jokers Wild in the Atlantis resort and Casino on Paradise Island,The Bahamas and has now a regular comedian for Carnival Cruise Line.
Brian is also a philosopher. Brian T Shirley appeared in the independent movie " After Hours" (which he also received writing credits for ). His T.V. credits include sveral appearences on "Low Country Live", an appearence on Comedy Central's Cheap Labor Day weekend, a commercial for Lens Crafters, Carolina Camera, and a couple of appearences on the local TV show Shop Talk. Brian also shot a scene for a promotional sereies called " Be your own fan" for The Charleston Riverdogs single A baseball team in 2012. He has done many radio interviews and is a regular guest on The Radio Free Rocky "D" talk show. He has worked with such acts as Jimmie " JJ " Walker, Tommy Chong, John Reep, Micheal Winslow ( of the " Police Academy" Movies), Darryl Rhoades, Tim Wilson, Jerry Faber, Manny Olivera, The Rev. Bob Levy, Grandma Lee, Billy Gardell, Aisha Tyler, James Gregory, Happy Cole, Walt Willy, Tim Statum and many others.
